I’ve been seeing this go around on the internets:

None of my friends had to tell Tim.

We had talked about getting married, and even went to look at rings (the band I picked is the one he got). Our beach vacation was coming up in a few weeks and I had a hunch he might propose there. He managed to surprise me.

On August 5, Tim and I went to the Georgia Aquarium. We had talked about going for months, his mom had insisted that he take me, and we finally bought tickets. I had just finished working summer camp (this is a big deal). Tim told me to dress nicely, and he wore a long sleeve shirt, which I thought was kind of weird since it was so hot. He barely ate any lunch, which was really weird. The guy usually eats triple what I do in half the time.

As soon as we got there, I went to the ladies’ room while he stared at his phone (nothing unusual, but little did I know he was texting Melissa, the photographer he had hired).

We headed straight to the Tropical Diver Exhibit. Tim gave me a kiss, always the fan of PDA. The only thing I remember him saying at this point was “I wanted to say something poetic”. I honestly have no recollection of what he said after that other than asking me to marry him, so I guess it’s good he didn’t go through a 30 minute monologue! It all happened really fast.

Then he said “Melissa’s behind us taking pictures!” and after that Melissa followed us around taking sweet pictures, while I was still in surprise mode. She did such a good job! We’ll definitely be using her later!
